Fall Lipstick Roundup – Top 8 Wearable Shades for Fall

Hi friends & HAPPY Monday!

Anyone else finding they have A LOT more free time today with Instagram down?? I’ll pretend I haven’t read an entire book today without the distraction that is Insta.

Besides pumpkin patches, Starbucks holiday drinks, fall scented candles + cozy sweaters, the one thing I look forward to the most during spooky season is switching out my nude lippies for, well, darker nude lippies (haha). When I think of the perfect Fall lip (which I find myself thinking about pretty often), my mind goes straight to a dark, vampy merlot shade. Fast forward to reality + 10 times of out 10, I’m wiping that dark sucker right off my lips because it’s totally out of my comfort zone. Instead, I find myself reaching for the same friggen’ lipsticks I wear everyday, vowing that NEXT Fall will be the one that I wear all of the dark, vampy shades my heart desires.

Well my friends, THIS is going to be the Fall that we wear the lipsticks we want!

After a serious deep dive into my lippie stash, I’ve found 8 totally wearable shades to get us through the next few weeks! SO, if you’re looking for the perfect Fall lip, then just keep on reading!

(From top to bottom: Damage, Raspberry Beret, Black Cherry, Pillowtalk, Backtalk, Amberlight, Courage, Glazed Mauve)

Revlon Super Lustrous in “Glazed Mauve” ($13 CAD)

First things first, THE most comfortable lipstick to ever grace your lips, the Revlon Super Lustrous Glass Shine Lipsticks. I’ve spoken about these lipsticks a few times on here because, well, my mind is still blown that these are classified as a lipstick. They’re glossy, hydrating and actually super comfortable on the lips, aka everything that I find a lipstick NOT to be. Out of the 25 shades available in these Lustrous Glass Shine Lipsticks, the shade “Glazed Mauve” is the perfect introductory shade for those wanting to dip their toes in the Fall lippie pond. Once you get comfortable with this mauve shade, you could even pair it with a deeper plump shade to darken it up…once you’re ready of course!

Rare Beauty Lip Soufflé Matte Cream Lipstick in “Courage” ($26 CAD)

Okay, by now we all know that I’m a total fan of everything Rare Beauty, ESPECIALLY the Lip Souffle’s. They are THE most incredible liquid lipstick formula that I’ve ever come across because they’re actually comfy to wear + therefore, I think they’re a total must have in your makeup collection. While I have several of the deeper shades from this collection (that of course I never wear), the shade “Courage” is definitely THE most wearable + perfect shade for Fall. For the perfect stained look, I apply it to the centre of my lips, tap out + finish with a clear balm on top and VOILA, you’re ready to wander the pumpkin patches!

Ilia Color Block High Impact Lipstick in “Amberlight” ($37 CAD)

This lipstick has been in my stash for at least a year now, and it’s taken me preparing for this post to realize it’s actually such a gorgeous shade for Fall! Described as a “bardot nude”, looking at it (oddly enough), makes me want to jump into a giant pile of leaves…and I’m not sure what is more “Fall” than that. While these Ilia lipsticks are pricey, you’re getting an incredible product that is cruelty-free, gluten free, clean and long-wearing.

Urban Decay Vice Hydrating Lipstick in “Backtalk” ($26 CAD)

While the Urban Decay lipsticks recently went through a little reformulation, there’s no question that the shade “Backtalk” is gorgeous annnnd perfect for Fall! Described as a pigmented + long wearing lipstick, this mauve nude shade is bound to get you through any and every Fall time activity. Because this lipstick is so pigmented, I prefer to dab it on the lips to provide more of a wash of Fall time colour than an intense slick of mauve-y goodness. Anyone else do this with their lipsticks??

Charlotte Tilbury Superstar Lips in “Pillowtalk” ($39 CAD)

Now, before you automatically scroll past this $39 CAD lipstick, hear me out. There’s no question that when it comes to lipsticks, Charlotte Tilbury knows a thing or two about making heavenly ones. Out of the 10+ different lipstick formulas that the brand has behind their name, these Superstar Lips ones are THE best. Acting more as a lipstick/lipgloss/lip balm hybrid, they deliver the colour of a lipstick with the hydration and glossy sheen of a balm/gloss. As a long time lover of everything “Pillowtalk”, I must say, I LOVE the Superstar Lips version the most. It’s the ultimate “your lips but better + darker” shade. Now, with the colder temperatures coming, it’s definitely important to keep your lips hydrated while you’re out you know, wandering the corn mazes. This lipstick locks in moisture, keeping them hydrated + moisturized for hours. Dare I even say that this formula plumps the lips a touch?! If that reason alone doesn’t make you want to get your hands on it, I don’t know what will!

E.L.F. Cosmetics Sheer Slick Lipstick in “Black Cherry” ($7 CAD)

This is, hands down, my favourite lip colour AND formula of the bunch. These Sheer Slick Lipsticks are super affordable, pigmented and feel like a balm on the lips. Oh, and if you’ve got your eyes on the Tik Tok viral Clinique Black Honey lippie, well this is a total dupe (and a heck of a lot more affordable). So regardless of your Fall activity, this is the perfect option!

Merit Flush Balm Cream Blush in “Raspberry Beret” ($36 CAD)

I’ve never been a fan of lip + cheek duos UNTIL I found this one from Merit. These Flush Blush Cream Blushes are pigmented + super blendable, also making it perfect for creating the ultimate monochromatic look. When applied to the lips, the shade “Raspberry Beret” gives you the perfect merlot stained lip look and I am totally here for it. So throw on your shacket and layer on this lippie for the ultimate Fall look!

Nars Lipstick in “Damage” ($33 CAD)

I picked up this NARS lipstick randomly a couple years ago and I’m only now realizing that it SCREAMS Fall! Described as a sheer muted grape shade, I can’t picture a better lipstick for, oh I don’t know, Starbucks + a haunted hay ride! These lipsticks are surprisingly glossy and sheer, but can easily be built up for a super pigmented berry lip look.

And there you have it friends, my top 8 wearable shades for Fall! Let me know in the comments below which shade is your fav!
