After the loveliest little long weekend, I’m back with THE perfect {nude} lip combo that I can’t keep a secret any longer.
But seriously, this everything “lip” lover has spent the past 32 years exclusively wearing a gloss (even though I buy lipsticks like they’re going out of style). ONLY on a day I’m feeling super fancy, would I choose to wear a lip liner to line (okay fine, OVERLINE) my lips, layering a gloss on top. I can’t think of a time that I’ve used a liner, PLUS a lipstick PLUS a gloss and totally loved it. So the fact that I’ve found a combo that, when paired together is a total *chefs kiss* but that also gets me excited about lipstick, well that’s kind of a big deal.
So, if you’re looking for the perfect nude lip combo, then sit back and just keep on reading!
STEP 1: Lip Liner

Along with my hefty stash of unused lipsticks, I’ve got quite the little collection of lip liners that I love to look at … but when it comes to overlining my lips, well there’s only one I reach for and that’s the CT Lip Cheats. Well, move over Charlotte, there’s a new liner in town and she’s vying for the number one spot in my life and on my lips.
Huda Beauty recently launched her line of Lip Contours and lets be real, they’re a giant *chefs kiss*. Scrap that, they are the definition of a *chefs kiss*! They’re pigmented, super creamy + insanely blendable. Described as being a matte lip pencil with a retractable tip and ultra-glide formula that effortlessly defines your lips, this pencil is also:
- vegan
- cruelty-free
- transfer proof and waterproof
- enriched with soybean and licorice to naturally plump your lips
- long lasting (up to 9 hours to be exact)
These HUDA Beauty Lip Contours really are something else! I have the shade “Pinky Brown” which is definitely a darker “your lips but better shade” which makes it perfect for lining the lips with AND wearing alone as a lip colour.
STEP 2: Lipstick
Huda Beauty Power Bullet Cream Glow Hydrating Lipstick in the shade “Angel”

Besides the new BITE Beauty Power Move Hydrating Soft Matte Lipsticks (don’t worry, we’ll talk about her in another post), I’ve never loved another lipstick quite like this one from HUDA Beauty. It’s SO comfortable and insanely hydrating, making me question everything I’ve ever thought about lipsticks.
The HUDA Beauty Power Bullet Cream Glow Hydrating Lipsticks are:
- an ultra-hydrating, ultra-comfortable lipstick that gives lips a natural, fuller-looking pout with a dewy finish
- vegan and gluten-free
- infused with Hydraberry (which hydrates and moisturizes), Sea Fennel (contains vitamins A,C,E and conditioning properties that help improve the texture of your lips) and Maxi-lip™ (which supports collagen production to plump with lasting effects when used regularly)
The Power Bullet Cream Glow Hydrating Lipstick comes in all-inclusive pink and brown shades that were created to match your natural lip pigmentation, while the buildable coverage hugs the lips with a barely-there feel. Even though a swipe or two of this lipstick is actually super comfy on the lips, with this combo, I prefer to dab it onto the lips to create a bit of a stain effect and I love it. I also find that by doing this, it lasts longer so I don’t need to keep reapplying.
I picked up the shade “Angel” which is the most gorgeous + natural looking, light baby pink.
STEP 3: Gloss
Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Plumping Gloss in the shade “013 – Beige”

My oh my this Dior gloss is a dream.
Even though this is my 3rd Lip Maximizer over the years, using this one has made me fall in love all over again with this formula. It’s SO comfortable on the lips, it’s not too thick or greasy and being the lip plumper connoisseur that I am, I can confidently say that this will plump your lips.
Here’s what you need to know about it:
- this gloss combines hydration, comfort and shine with an instant and long-lasting plumping effect
- it’s free of sulfates, parabens and formaldehydes
- it’s vegan, cruelty-free and gluten free and comes in recyclable packaging
- the formula contains volumizing spheres of hyaluronic acid for powerful hydration and a fuller lip effect
- it has a slight minty scent
Depending on what I’m going to be doing that day will determine how I apply this gloss. If I’ll be outdoors (aka a lip gloss lovers nightmare) then I’ll apply a bit of gloss to the centre of my lips, dabbing it in to provide a subtle sheen (I also find that dabbing it in helps to preserve the lip combo, making your lips look plush and pillowy soft for longer). If I’ll be indoors, then I take a “More is more” approach with this gloss, so be warned, you shan’t forget about these glossy lips (haha).
And there you have it lovelies, my new fav lip combo!
If you’re on the market for a new liner, lipstick or gloss, I would definitely recommend trying any one of these 3 goodies because they truly are THAT good.
I’ll definitely be taking this lip combo into Fall with me but will likely swap out the HUDA Beauty Lipstick for a bit of a darker option. I’m thinking Charlotte Tilbury’s “Pillow Talk” or the new BITE Beauty Matte Lipstick in “Sugar Buns”.
