Happy Monday friends!
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Did you watch the Oscars last night? I was in bed by 7:30pm (so I could be up for my 5:30am workout), so sadly I missed it. Thankfully, Instagram has caught me up to speed on all of the hits + misses as far as last night’s fashion is concerned. After scrolling through pages upon pages of gorgeous (and not so gorgeous) ensembles, I thought I’d put together my own little list of the red carpet looks I loved and which ones…well, just didn’t hit the mark.
Soooo, if you wanna see some of these looks, then just keep scrolling!
THE BEST
Kelly Ripa in Christian Siriano
Okay I saved the best…for first! Kelly Ripa looks STUNNING in this black (not so little) number! One blog I read said her and her dreamboat of a hubby were going for a classic look (which I totally get), while another blog actually said that she’d be looking back at this outfit years later and laughing. To which I say “how rude”! Personally, I think that person may have been drunk (although I suppose we’re all entitled to our own opinion). I think this dress is so gorgeous & in some ways, unlike any other dress I’ve ever seen on a red carpet. So long story short, I’m obsessed!

America Ferrera in Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition
American Ferrera looks gorgeous and is totally giving me gladiator vibes with this look! It’s cute, romantic and almost effortless.

Geena Davis in Romona Keveža
Ummm…HELLO! The more I look at this dress, the more I realize that the top is what I’m totally drawn to. It’s kind of stunning!

Mindy Kaling in Dolce & Gabbana
Yes, yes, yes to Mindy Kaling in this yellow ensemble! I think it’s super stunning and is totally giving me summer-time vibes. I love when we see more colour on the red carpet (even though if I were to ever find myself on said carpet, I would totally be in all black haha)

Margot Robbie in Chanel
I don’t know what it is about this Chanel dress that I love, but it’s super romantic looking + Margot makes it look so effortless. Her hair, makeup and dress all compliment each other…and I love it!

Scarlett Johansson in Oscar de la Renta
Okay, Scarlett looks like her own little golden OSCAR in this number. The dress is incredible and her makeup might be my favourite out of all of the looks I’ve shared so far.

Janelle Monae in Ralph Lauren
This one is SO different and I love it! It looks like something straight out of some kind of fairy tale. While I know this look hasn’t been a huge hit with a lot of people, I think it’s stunning and in typical Janelle fashion…so out of the box!

Brie Larson in Celine
I could probably spend the next hour listing reasons why I love this dress + why I love Brie Larson in it! This dress fits her like a glove, her slicked back hair (which I’m not typically a fan of) is so glamorous and compliments the rest of this look so well.

Saoirse Ronan in Valentino
Okay, at first I scrolled past this look and thought yikes. And then I saw it on another site and I realized I kind of love it. It’s feminine and flirty. It’s soft yet bold. Everything goes together SO well to make this whole look so stunning!

THE WORST
Maya Rudolph in Valentino
It actually hurts my heart to put Maya in any “worst” category, however I am just not loving any part of this. From the blunt hair cut to the makeup, the green earrings to the copper caftan…everything is just so choppy and I don’t care for it.

Charlize Theron in Dior
Do I like Charlize Theron? YES. Do I like this dress? Heck NAH! It’s confusing and it kind of looks like the mice in Cinderella didn’t have time to finish it before Charlize had to walk the red carpet. I’m gonna say from the neck up she’s stunning (and I’m loving those heels & toe polish colour haha)

Kristen Wiig in Valentino Couture
UGHHHHHHH! I almost have no words to describe my confusion with this one. I’ve got a total #ladycrush on Kristen and yet, this dress reminds me of a centipede. I’m confused and too upset to go on haha

Olivia Colman in Stella McCartney
Je suis très confused with this one too! It’s like there was a time crunch and everyone just contributed what materials they had and threw this velvety number together. It also looks like it would be VERY hot to wear…even with the shoulder holes haha

Billie Eilish in Chanel
No, no, no, no, no. Just no. That’s it.

And there you have it friends, my list of the best and worst dressed from last night!
What are your thoughts on last night’s red carpet looks? Do you watch awards shows?
Hope you have an amazing Monday & thanks so much for stopping by!
