“Good things comes to those who remove their makeup before bed!”

It was a gloomy October, “add to cart” kinda day when the Sephora Gods dropped off the coupon for the Fall VIB sale. Like many you, my initial thought was “I’m up to my eyeballs in makeup I couldn’t possibly need anything else from Sephora”…followed by “well, I guess it wouldn’t hurt just to look..”. Before I knew it, I was getting an email telling me that my order had been received!
With so many new product launches, it was close to impossible not to pick up an item or two. This mini haul consists of three lip products… one balm, one (heavenly) set of limited edition glosses + one lipstick set.
So without further ado, let’s unbox!
Biossance Squalane + Rose Vegan Lip Balm ($22 CAD)
After you’ve exfoliated your pout, applying a good balm is a definite must! While scrolling through the Sephora site I came across the Biossance Squalane + Rose Vegan Lip Balm. Biossance is a brand I’m unfamiliar with but when I saw that it had the “Clean at Sephora” seal of approval I was intrigued. I’ve found myself more interested in making the transition to clean beauty so I decided to dig a little deeper. (PS more on transitioning to clean beauty in a future post).
What Sephora wants you to know about this product:
- It’s a vegan, petroleum- and beeswax-free lip balm
- “Clean at Sephora” seal of approval!
- Free of sulfates SLS + SLES, parabens, formaldehydes, phthalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, and triclocarban, and contains less than one percent of synthetic fragrances
- It’s also cruelty-free, gluten-free, and comes in recyclable packaging
- It’s highlighted ingredient is Wakame Algae which is said to help restore the look of lip plumpness and visibly contours
- This non-toxic balm is formulated with a skin-loving complex of wakame algae, ceramides, and hyaluronic acid to immediately smooth, hydrate, and protect the lip’s delicate moisture barrier. Wakame algae restores the look of lip plumpness while rose absolute will leave your lips feeling luxe all day.
- This balm also contains hyaluronic acid which helps smooth and plump the lip area.

MY THOUGHTS: As an “everything relating to lips lover”, I only have one question. Where the HECK has this balm been all my life?! It has a subtle rose scent (similar to the Dior Creme de Rose balm) + feels AMAZING on the lips. While I totally love the Laneige lip sleeping masks, the consistency of these two balms is completely different. The Laneige masks feel thick on the lips compared to this rose balm which is very “wet” feeling (if that makes sense). It goes on clear and after sleeping with it on my lips, I’ve noticed that I wake up with a more plump pout. Would I recommend this? 100% YES! As my first experience with a clean beauty product, if this is any indication of how all other clean beauty products are then count me in!!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the holiday sets at Sephora this year are incredible! As a long time fan of Bite Beauty, the minute I saw this set of mini lipsticks I couldn’t NOT buy it. MY THOUGHTS: Yes, yes yes! The colors are stunning and are totally perfect for your everyday makeup looks. Unlike other Bite Beauty lipsticks I’ve tried in the past, these are surprisingly glossy (as you can kind of see in the swatches). I mean, this set retails for only $28 CAD…so if that’s not a reason to add it to your shopping cart, I don’t know what is.

MY THOUGHTS: I need more of these glosses in my life. They are hands down my all time favorite glosses + I can only pray to the makeup Gods that FENTY will continue to introduce more shades to their collection. They’re smooth and super comfortable on the lips. They’re not sticky at all, they last a long time and I find them to be super hydrating. And I mean… should we talk about the applicator on these glosses!? The bigger the better am I right?!
