Lip Combo: Monday, October 14th, 2019

Happy Thanksgiving Monday to all my Canadian friends!

Hope everyone’s Thanksgiving was filled with lots of yummy food + even better company!

Last week’s lip combo was a pretty great success if you ask me! I spent 7 days wearing a lippie I wouldn’t have normally reached for (not that often at least). Not only do I now LOVE the Charlotte Tilbury Superstar Lips Lipstick in “Pillowtalk”, but I’ve made a pretty good dent in it. At this rate, I’ll be using up these lippies in no time and finally getting my money’s worth. With well over 250 lip products currently collecting dust in my stash, at least 90% of that has never been touched (that’s kinda gross I know). Making these blog posts is forcing me to reach for products I normally wouldn’t, which is great! Some of us just need a little extra push I guess!

Sooo without further ado, let’s jump right into Lip Combo week #2:

Essence Makeup Soft Contouring Liner in “Big Proposal”

Besides the L’Oreal Colour Riche liner I mentioned in last weeks post, “Big Proposal” is the next best thing to line my plump pout with. It’s the perfect “your lips but better” nude & is so comfortable on the lips. I definitely use this to over line my lips + you’d never know I was over lining; the color matches my lips perfectly. By now, my love of Essence Makeup should come as no surprise. Their products are insanely affordable and they have every makeup product you could think of. Essence describes these liners as being “highly pigmented, silky, smudge-proof and long-lasting”. With 9 shades to chose from, they retail for…GET READY FOR THIS….$2.49 CAD. Next time you’re at the drugstore, I highly encourage you to just take a look at these liners! I promise you won’t be disappointed!

MAC Cosmetics Satin Lipstick in “Faux”

With a dozen (or so) MAC lipsticks in my collection, I thought it was time to pick a fall shade from the MAC line + use that for this week’s lip combo. After swatching Peach Blossom, Pink Plaid + Blankety (just to name a few), one of the satin lipsticks jumped out at me (not literally of course, although would that have been a sign or what haha)! It was love at first sight with Faux. I mean, what’s there not to love?! It’s the most beautiful satin-y, pink-y, nude shade. Faux has been in my collection for quite a while now, yet I can only remember applying it to my lips…once. I feel like I buy lipsticks, and am nervous I’m going to use it up + not have it anymore. So by immediately adding it to my collection, I’m in a weird way preserving it. Man I’m strange! Well my friends, that ends NOW! Worst case I love it and use it up…and have to buy another one right?! Anyways, Faux is a stunning, everyday shade that can be worn day to night. I do find that this lipstick looks different depending on the light. On my wrist (in the picture above) it appears to be quite pink yet on my lips (in the picture below), I would argue that it appears to be VERY nude. Regardless of where you are, I’m confident it’ll look pretty great! If you wanted to make this lip combo a tad darker and more fall-like, you could probably add a darker liner underneath (and shade in the whole lip with it). Just a thought!

How many MAC lipsticks is too many? Do you have a MAC favorite that you always reach for?

Thanks so much for stopping by & until next time,
