#ProjectPan, One Lippie at a Time!

Hi friends + Happy Saturday!

Okay, I know I’m not the only gal out there who’s ever thought, “why the heck is my purse so heavy, do I have a friggin’ brick in it?!”

After a day out, I noticed my left arm was feeling particularly sore and figured maybe it was time to clean out my purse (you know, to confirm my cat hadn’t climbed in there earlier that day, or that I wasn’t walking around with a 10 LB dumbell).

It took dumping out the contents of my Kate Spade bag to realize that I officially had a problem. After sifting through the countless receipts + gum wrappers, I counted not 1, 2 but 24 friggin lip products in what I thought was a relatively small purse (Mary Poppins had nothing on me that day). Also…how many nudes is TOO many nudes? (asking for a friend)

I realized I needed to press the pause button on my makeup spending + take inventory of my overwhelmingly large lip product collection.

Annnnd two hours later, I had organized my lippies into categories and had made a note of every last one of them. So how many exactly do I have in my collection you might ask?!

**drum roll please**

254 FRIGGEN LIPSTICKS, LIP GLOSSES, LIP BALMS, LIP PLUMPERS ….

While I am sooo happy with all of the lip products in my collection, the issue I have with this is that I very rarely use them. I buy the newest products & then toss them into my plexiglass makeup organizer and then continue my search for the latest and greatest lippie.

Enter #projectpan!

The project panning community has taken over my Instagram feed lately, encouraging others to shop their own stash (aka use the products that they have). Clearly I’ve spent good money on the products in my collection, so why am I not using them? So to change this, I’ve chosen 12 lippies from my collection that I’m going to focus on using until they’re done.

I am currently panning:

  • Catrice Volumizing Lip Balm
  • MILK Makeup Kush Lip Balm in “Cannatonic”
  • Dior Lip Maximizer
  • YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in #44
  • LANEIGE lip sleeping mask (original)
  • iT Cosmetics lipstick in “pretty natural”
  • MILK Makeup Kush lip glaze
  • Fresh Sugar balm in coconut
  • Clinique chubby plump + shine in “#04 pink + plenty”
  • Clinique Repairwear Intense Treatment

I vowed that I wouldn’t buy another lippie until I finished these 12. While I had the best of intentions, I set my eyes on a new NYX plumping gloss….and had to have it. So, baby steps!

Even though my lip collection may be out of control, jumping on the #projectpanning train is totally helping me get my money’s worth outta these bad boys. It’s also helping me see which products I love and would re-purchase and which might have been a waste of my money.

Anyways, thanks for stopping by & until next time,

      xo
